View SpecialsEvery Christmas Eve, we do a full system giveaway to a family in need. It is absolutely my favorite time of the year around here.
About the first of December, we have a huge campaign on the radio that asks people to go to our website and nominate a family in need. What I love about it is that it’s not the most nominations that wins – it’s always the best story.
We usually narrow it down to about ten and then we have some really amazing friends at the Plano police department who pick the winner. We then load up and go surprise the family on Christmas Eve.
This year, it was the Barrera Family. Ashley Barrera went to our website and nominated her husband. He’s an amazing man; coaches’ football and baseball and is just really involved. They’ve come on some really hard times the last couple of years. He was diagnosed with double kidney failure. He’s lost the vision in both of his eyes and is really unable to work and do anything that he used to love. And he’s young still.
Ashley is now the sole provider of the home, and they just don’t the extra money for those enhancements on their system. They’ve actually gone something like two years without air conditioning in their home. And with somebody that’s in poor health like him, they need it.
So, on Christmas Eve, we got their family and our On Time Experts family together. And we just swarmed them. We walked up, and we blessed this family with an amazing system. There were a lot of tears.

We’ve been doing this for three years now and we don’t plan to stop. It’s the best way to give back to our community. So right after Thanksgiving, sometime during that week going into the first week of December, you’ll start seeing a huge radio campaign.
