Are you about to replace your air conditioner? Make sure you read these 3 tips from Randy Kelley to protect your investment.

  1. Reputation
First and foremost, make sure you are dealing with a reputable and licensed HVAC contractor. There are all types of companies out there, many of whom get in the business for a summer and then get out. They take advantage of homeowners. Can you get things cheap? Sure. But you get what you pay for.
  2. Sizing
There are companies out there that will only spend 30 minutes in your home before they give you a quote. They may or may not even look at your unit.
  3. In the state of Texas, licensed contractors are required to do a manual J load on your home before installing an HVAC system. At theOn Time Experts, we measure your walls and windows, your attic insulation, and the entire square footage of your home. All of those numbers help us figure out exactly what size system is best suited for your home.

If a contractor doesn’t do that, I would ask them to leave.

  4. Guarantees,
Is the company going to stand behind its work? There should be guarantees in place to protect you, not the company.
What if the AC system you got was a lemon? When you work with us, we have a No Lemon Guarantee, which means you’re protected.
  5. We also have a Whatever it Takes Guarantee. If we bend over backward and still can’t make you happy, we’re going to give you your money back.

If a company doesn’t have those types of guarantees in place to protect you, I would say that’s probably not a company you want to do business with.

The most important day in the life of any air conditioning system is the day it’s installed. As licensed air-conditioning guys, we know how to do it right. Unfortunately, there are just companies out there that don’t.
