The Department of Energy says that you can save as much as 10% a year, just by changing your temperature down 7-10 degrees over an 8-hour period. So it’s definitely something to consider, especially if you’re going to be away from your house for a significant amount of time.

If you’re going to be away from your house for a week, dial that thing down. With many thermostats, you can program it to come back up by the time you hit the door.

You do want to be careful in colder weather to avoid a water freezing issues, but you can definitely back the thermostat down a few notches. It doesn’t take it too long to recover heat, once you turn in back on.

There are many different thermostats we carry that have WiFi capability. You simply login to your app and monitor the temperature from there. If you know you’re coming home earlier in the day, with the click of a button, you can have it nice and toasty by the time you get home.

Ask your technicians during any maintenance agreement, or anytime you’re on the phone, about the different types of thermostats we have. You can visit us on our website or give us a call at 469-336-3435.
