I remember about two years ago; I was on call on the 4th of July. We’re in Dallas, and it’s hot – something like 110 degrees outside. A homeowner called us freaking out.
It was the first time he was hosting the party and his AC was out. They were sweating and uncomfortable. So, I went to the house within the hour, fixed him up, and didn’t charge him any extra. He looked like the hero (especially to his father-in-law) and we got a customer for life.
